Boeing tosses hat in ring to create human landing system for NASA moon mission

Boeing has entered the bidding match to build a system that will take astronauts to the moon, the company announced on Nov. 5 — a move that may bring more aerospace work to Florida’s Space Coast.

Chicago-based Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) submitted a proposal to NASA to produce the ascent and descent elements of the human landing system, which will carry astronauts to and from the lunar surface. The system is part of the Artemis program, a mission to put the first woman and the next man on the moon by 2024. Read more here.
