Exposure, the ability to raise more venture capital and form partnerships all are some of the benefits local firms have realized six months after participating in the Rise of the Rest capital competition in Orlando last April.
Rise of the Rest is a bus tour competition founded by AOL co-founder Steve Case and backed by multiple high-profile entrepreneurs and billionaires such as Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN) founder and CEO Jeff Bezos, as well as billionaire businesswoman and founder of Spanx apparel Sara Blakely. It presented an opportunity for early-stage entrepreneurs to pitch their companies on a stage backed by a national brand.
