Orlando startup Capacitech to double its manufacturing and add jobs

Capacitech Energy Inc. started in 2016 when University of Central Florida student and budding entrepreneur Joe Sleppy was introduced to UCF professor Jayan Thomas, who theorized the idea of a wire-shaped capacitor.

Teacher and student quickly joined UCF’s I-Corps startup training program to launch a business capable of producing and selling the technology. Five years later, the firm is gearing up significant growth, with plans to double its production capability and create jobs in 2021, founder and CEO Joe Sleppy told Orlando Business Journal. Read more here.
