A federal judge in Tampa on Friday sentenced Timothy Roberts, founder and CEO of the now-defunct Savtira Corp. in Ybor City, to six-and-a-half years in federal prison.

Roberts, who pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud in January 2017, also was ordered to pay $5.8 million in restitution to victims jointly and severally with Terrance Taylor, who was Savtira’s chief financial officer.

Taylor, who pleaded guilty in June 2017 to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, was sentenced to 60 months in prison in December.
