The board of Tampa Bay WaVE has named Alex Sink as board chair-elect.

Sink, Florida’s former chief financial officer and former state president for Bank of America (NYSE: BAC), brings a well-known name, executive leadership skills and financial clout, including the ability to raise money, to WaVE, a Tampa nonprofit that services and houses growing startup companies.

Sink will lead all tactical efforts for WaVE, ensuring the organization forms strategic community alliances and helps attract tech company talent and capital to Tampa Bay, Linda Olson, president and founder of WaVE, said in a press release.
