Orange County’s Economic Summit on Jan. 21 will highlight milestones and achievements the area reached in 2015, as well as set the stage for 2016. But the event also will make it clear that the county’s technology scene is growing and will make a big impact in Central Florida.

The event, held at the Orange County Convention Center, will make mention of Orlando being named the No. 1 U.S. travel destination in 2015, welcoming 62 million visitors in 2014, as well as being named the top U.S. location for business meetings and conventions. However, Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs wants to make it better known that Central Florida isn’t just a place for theme parks and tourism, but a place for diversified businesses to flourish.
