Why NASA attends this annual gamer event — and you should, too


A two-day game developer fest may seem like an unconventional method for major space organizations to spot engineering talent, but results have said otherwise.

Kunal Patel and a group of other game developers, which includes software engineers, artists and graphic designers, now are working with Kennedy Space Center to develop mobile virtual reality experience that will allow a user to explore space and the International Space Station. That relationship also was at last year’s Indie Galactic Space Jam, an Orlando event that gathers dozens of developers in one spot to create space-related video games in two days.
