So just how big could the Florida Advanced Manufacturing Research Center become?
Rick Weddle, president and CEO of the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, said at an EDC event Aug. 12 that economic modeling for the Florida Advanced Manufacturing Research Center is predicting the creation of 20,000 direct jobs in 10 years and 80,000 net new jobs, counting indirect.
“The payroll would be a historic level,” Weddle said. “That would increase the size of our region by about 8 percent.” Read more here.
