UPS successfully tests drone delivery in Florida as a cost-cutting strategy

For UPS, reducing just one mile per driver per day in one year can save UPS up to $50 million, the company says. Drone delivery, it found out this week in Florida, might do just that.

UPS (NYSE: UPS) on Monday successfully tested a drone delivery in Lithia, a suburb of Hillsborough County that is home to fewer than 9,000 people. In the test, a drone was launched from the top of a UPS package truck, headed off to make a home delivery while the truck chugged along its route.
