Universal Orlando patent may be for Harry Potter, Nintendo lands

Universal Parks & Resorts theme park may add a new spin on a traditional sight-seeing attraction gadget that would bring scenery to life.

The patent, dubbed “Mixed reality viewer system and method,” essentially would merge the typical tower viewer binoculars found in attractions like tall buildings or points of scenic lookouts with augmented reality and virtual reality technology. This would make theme park scenic areas more appealing as it can provide simulated living things around the scenery, as well as provide easier ways for theme park operators to provide unique themes to areas.
