There you are enjoying your pumpkin latte at the local coffeehouse — everything is fine from the scone to the specialty drink — but, oh, that annoying server. Or maybe the server is perfect, but you take the lid off the cup and that’s not a latte, that’s some whipped-cream-topped poser.

Many customers immediately take to social media such at Yelp and Facebook, posting rants and photos. In the wake is the business’ reputation with little remedy for restoration.

Julien Meyer’s free BlurtBox app (blurtbox.com) is aimed at rising above that online noise to help diners reach restaurant managers directly with complaints, concerns and kudos. In many cases the connection is in real time, allowing businesses to react in the moment to solve the issue.
