There may be a day in the coming decades when millions of people live and work in space. And that gateway to the heavens may start in Brevard County, said Mark Bontrager, vice president of spaceport operations at the state’s aerospace economic development agency Space Florida. “We want Florida to be the London of the space-bearing generation,” said Bontrager, who was a panelist at Orlando Business Journal’s Doing Business in Brevard County luncheon on Aug. 26.
“We are all witnessing a commercial space renaissance,” Bontrager said. “I run into some of the folks who were here in the ’60s who were part of the Apollo program. They’re saying, ‘It kind of feels like it did back then.’” Read more here.
