Tech startup secures naming rights to downtown St. Pete office tower

A new sign will be emblazoned on the St. Petersburg skyline in the coming weeks — one that a local technology CEO says will provide credibility for not only his company, but the city’s technology sector.

Priatek, which develops interactive advertising kiosks placed in shopping centers, has acquired the naming rights to One Progress Plaza at 200 Central Ave. It will be renamed Priatek Plaza in a ceremony on Sept. 17.

In 2013, Kucera Properties, which owns the tower, launched a marketing campaign to sell the naming rights. At the time, the group was looking for $5 million— $500,000 a year over a 10-year lease.
