Tampa firm wants to reinvent the job recruiting process with a chatbot

A tight labor market has spurred the creation of HireHumanly, a human resources technology company in Tampa.

The startup, which launched in May, uses a chatbot, or a computer program that simulates human conversation, to allow companies to connect with potential employees in a way that makes the job candidates feel valued, said Jim Schimpf, founder of HireHumanly. That’s important as companies compete for top talent at a time when unemployment is at a 30-year-low and the skills deficit is at an all-time high, Schimpf said.

The technology also frees up corporate recruiters from administrative tasks and allows them to build meaningful relationships with job candidates, Schimpf said.
