The aim of Tawlk is to provide intuitive tools to help individuals freely and more easily understand and engage social media, while also giving both companies and developers a flexible data platform that a wide range of applications can be built on. Our core focuses include providing real-time social media search functionality with valuable statistical information such as a topic’s overall popularity and sentiment. Another focus is our unique 0-100 Tawlk score, which measures the current public impact of a topic. This score is uniquely calculated from the overall popularity, sentiment, and amplification of a given topic based on a rolling window of recent data. Beyond the ability to search one topic at a time, the current beta also offers convenient comparisons of many popular topics. Users can quickly and easily see how similar topics rank against one another. For instance, one could compare the current social standing of major tech companies or popular cell phone carriers. Many more features and systems are currently in development but we appreciate any and all feedback we can get regarding the current beta.
Product / Service
Free unregistered users receive real-time search capabilities, sentiment analysis, Tawlk scores, popular comparison charts (political candidates, movie stars, cell phone companies, tech giants, etc). They also receive key user experience functionality such as the ability to view videos and pictures in place without being forced to leaving the site. Most of this is already complete and online. Registered users will have a unified login system to instantly register/login via most major social networks. From there they will have the ability to not only search and view posts, but also include personal data and interact with data directly via methods like following, commenting, retweeting, etc. as appropriate. Paid users get an intuitive dashboard that lets the user go beyond just seeing what is happening "now" with the ability to track and archive topics 24/7. They will get to see the biggest influencers for each topic, tools to respond to posts easily, historical graphing of vital stats like sentiment, popularity, amplification, and Tawlk scores. Access to raw data downloads and developer APIs will also be maid available to subscribers to enable them to develop their own unique uses of these important data sets. We have a patent pending for the overall user experience points and strategies detailed above as well as for the Tawlk scoring system.
An opportunity exists to capture a large number of users with free useful real-time social media search and analysis service. As this free user base goes convert a percentage of of these users into paid subscribers for a small recurring monthly fee. Potential subscribers will be attracted by our free real-time offerings and the ability to easily upgrade to a dashboard that provides historical data, monitoring, brand management tools, and data API access. Potential advertising options are on the table as well when critical mass of public users is reached. This all also is being built as an open platform that developers can easily build on top of, with key libraries made available as open source. We also acknowledge an acquisition exit as a strong possibility as many competitors with similar and often far less evolved technology have already been acquired by companies such as Google, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Salesforce.
