Startup raises $4.5 million to grow technology tailored to workers’ comp industry

A Fort Lauderdale startup founded by a former Modernizing Medicine employee and his two business partners has raised a Series A round to develop a web service geared toward the workers’ compensation insurance industry.

ChronWell raised $4.5 million to develop a platform that aims to serve injured workers efficiently and reduce costs for companies. The startup was founded last year by Dr. Joe Rubinsztain, who previously founded and headed up a company acquired by Modernizing Medicine called gMed. For some months following the acquisition, Rubinsztain headed up the division as president.

Chronwell’s co-founders also include Sam Rubinsztain and Salomon Sredni.
