Startup expo expects entrepreneurs from across U.S.

A Fort Lauderdale entrepreneur convention is expecting more than twice as many attendees as last year as Start-Up Expo, or SUP-X, expands into a national event.

The two-day convention and exposition, designed to assist startups with less than $3 million in annual revenue, will be at the Greater Fort Lauderdale-Broward County Convention Center Feb. 16-17.

The expo has already attracted early sign-ups from as far away as Canada, said Bob Fitts, president of the Gold Coast Venture Capital Association, a Boca Raton nonprofit set up in 1984 to help new entrepreneurs develop relationships with investors and service providers.
