Solving Volusia’s ‘brain-drain’ issues: Virtual startup center provides remote answer


When Art Zimmet’s wife received a job promotion that required her to relocate to Florida’s West Coast, it also meant Zimmet would need to resign from his job as a business consultant at the Small Business Development Center at Daytona State College.

Fortunately, for both Zimmet and the local business community, where he has been active in initiatives promoting entrepreneurship, he didn’t have to look far for his next job.

Zimmet accepted a newly created position as a program manager for the Daytona Beach-based Florida Virtual Entrepreneur Center, whose physical office is at the UCF Business Incubator at Daytona Beach International Airport.
