Rhys Williams to lead FAU’s Tech Runway

Rhys Williams, president and co-founder of the New World Angels investor group in Boca Raton, has been named associate vice president and managing director of Florida Atlantic University’s Tech Runway program, which fosters technology-related startup companies.

Williams fills the vacancy created by Kim Gramm, who recently left to to become managing director of the Innovation Hub at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

“Rhys has been the leader of the growing entrepreneurial ecosystem throughout South Florida and the state for years,” said Dan Flynn, FAU vice president for research. Flynn said Williams knows how to take a “kernel of an idea and turn that into a viable company.”
