Co-working space is often thought of as the habitat of startup companies and young professionals. But these trendy spaces are increasingly used by large, well-established companies.
The co-working sector is one of the fastest-growing segments of the office market and, in some cases, it has helped counter the trend of companies using less space as more employees work remotely.
According to JLL, the growth of co-working spaces accounted for 29.4 percent of total U.S. office absorption from 2015 to 2017. It has been growing at an average annual rate of 23 percent since 2010.
