Orlando backs UCF’s proposal for Sanford Burnham building

Since Florida Hospital pulled its proposal for the Sanford Burnham building in late January, the future of the facility has been uncertain. But a recent correspondence between the mayors of Orlando and Orange County, and a statement from Tavistock, could mean a final answer is coming soon.

Orlando will support the University of Central Florida’s proposal — which is to create a cancer research and treatment center in partnership with three private entities — said Mayor Buddy Dyer in a letter sent this week to the county and the Tavistock land development company.
