Mission accomplished: Elon Musk’s Falcon Heavy rocket launches, lands boosters

History was made as the largest and most powerful rocket roared to the sky on Feb. 6.

The Hawthorne, Calif.-based rocket company SpaceX — founded and led by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk —launched its three-booster, 27-engine rocket from Kennedy Space Center’s launch complex 39-A as the world watched. The company also landed two of its used rockets simultaneously at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Landing Zone 1. The rocket — the main core — is set to land on a drone ship near Port Canaveral.
