Melinda Gates fell in love in high school.

When her father brought home an Apple 3 computer, she was consumed with the idea of coding, the possibilities related to technology and how it would shape the future. From that moment, she knew what she wanted her career to be.

Gates, a former employee with tech company Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) and now a co-chair and operator of the Bill and Melinda GatesFoundation along with her husband, Bill Gates, said during her time with Microsoft she assumed she would see more women in the field.
