Knight Foundation invests $665,000 in Miami organizations helping entrepreneurs, startups grow


    In another boost for the local startup scene, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation announced investments in four organizations dedicated to making South Florida an ideal place to grow a business.

    The investment, which totaled $665,000, went to Talent Scout, Digital Grass, Hello Beauté and Refresh Miami. The grants come as Miami gained a wave of national attention for its startup scene as seasoned entrepreneurs and investors moved to the area.

    “Miami’s startup community continues to grow and draw the attention of entrepreneurs, investors and exceptional talent from across the world,” said Raul Moas, Knight’s Miami program director, in a statement. “We’re proud to support organizations that are placing founders at the center of our ecosystem and making it easier for all Miamians to participate in our tech economy.”
