The latest data on rates of business growth in America by the Kauffman Foundation show improvement for South Florida, with the region climbing three spots on the index, to No. 36.
Among the three metrics the Missouri-based nonprofit uses to measure business vitality in individual regions, the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach metropolitan statistical area saw increases in two.
The ranking stands in stark contrast to another of Kauffman’s analyses, its Startup Activity Index, where, in May, South Florida landed at No. 1, with the most new business activity in the nation. But perhaps being No. 36 in the latest report should not be viewed so negatively, once methodology is accounted for.
