Aerion Corp.’s plans for a $300 million Melbourne headquarters are grounded, which ices planned job creation — but may open up an attractive piece of real estate. 

The Reno, Nevada-based firm was working toward the production of a business jet capable of flying faster than the speed of sound, but it has ceased operations amid financial difficulties, as first reported by Florida Today. The company boasts a backlog of $11.2 billion, but lacks the funds to make the supersonic jets, according to a company statement sent to Orlando Business Journal. Read more here
