Today, I saw someone fall over from being too close to a tyrannosaurus. It serves as a testament to just how real virtual reality is becoming and it’s just the start of what Full Sail University students will create now that its AR/VR Fabrication Lab is open.
Full Sail cut the ribbon on its $3 million, 8,000-square-foot lab space Aug. 12. The area is dedicated to teaching students how to create programs for virtual and augmented reality headsets and devices. It is also the place where some of the future workforce will be created. “This is us keeping pace with the demand for the job market out there and what industries are looking for,” Full Sail University President Garry Jones told Orlando Business Journal. “By doing this, our graduates have an exponentially increased opportunity for good-paying careers in a host of positions that didn’t exist even five years ago.”
