The property at 2405 S. Harbor City Blvd., a former indoor skateboard park and furniture store before that, doesn’t look like much now.

But a group called Groundswell is transforming the building — located in a somewhat-rougher area just south of Crane Creek in Melbourne — into a contemporary office, meeting and lecture facility intended to attract younger entrepreneurs who need a space to work from and also assistance in pushing their ideas and products forward.

The idea is to not only provide a secure and vibrant work space, but also to create a unique place that provides business guidance, mentoring and collaboration. People could rent facilities at Groundswell by the day, the month or longer term, depending on their needs. Some might not have to pay anything at all.
