IBM exec tapped as COO for Lumina Analytics in Tampa

The partnership between IBM executive Michael Browne and Tampa’s Lumina Analytics started simple: Lumina wanted to work with the global management giant and wasn’t getting the attention it wanted.

“Because they were small, they had not been able to get the sort of attention they wanted from IBM,” said Michael Browne, IBM’s former director of strategic partnership. “A colleague asked if I would be willing to entertain a phone call, and as an executive, I was fascinated by the technology and also that they wanted to leave an IBM competitor.”
