How Royal Caribbean will turn its ships into high-tech playgrounds


    Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. will equip all 48 of its ships with new technology infrastructure over the coming two years, debuting features aimed at enhancing both the guest and staff experience aboard cruises.

    By the end of 2019, the Miami-based cruise company (NYSE: RCL) will have transformed to offer app-based functions, such as wayfinding for guests and baggage-drop management for staff, facial recognition-enabled check-in at ports and virtual reality-powered previews of cruise destinations.
