t’s no surprise to learn that Tallahassee is a center of academic research. Tallahassee is the 10th most highly educated MSA in the US. Both FSU and FAMU have massive research divisions, Innovation park employs dozens of scientists, and The MagLab continues to break records.
All of this local brainpower has lead to the discovery and invention of a large amount of valuable technology. Much of it has been productized and sold to consumers worldwide. But how much of that technology is making an impact locally? How does the decision get made as to where technology is produced and managed?
To find out, we spoke with the Brent Edington, director of Florida State’s Office of Commercialization.
