Orlando’s evergreen seed fund accelerator, FireSpring Fund, just started its first class, and plans already are in motion to expand throughout Central Florida.

Donna Mackenzie, executive director of FireSpring Fund, told Orlando Business Journal that in addition to planning a second location inside Embry-Riddle‘s 50,000 square-foot John Mica Engineering & Aerospace Innovation Complex in Daytona Beach once it opens in 2017, she will look for other locations within Central Florida counties, as well. “FireSpring Fund has a five-county mission that includes Volusia County,” she said. A timeline for when FireSpring would want to seek other locations in counties such as Seminole, Osceola and Brevard has yet to be determined.
