FIEA gives Orlando video-game development students ‘hands-on’ experience

When the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy opened its doors, Ben Noel said the general public had a misconception about video game developers.

But 10 years later, the school’s executive director says it has helped create a better understanding of the people behind some of the world’s most popular video games.

“We have demystified things a bit,” he said. “The average community member here doesn’t think of video-game development as just a bunch of kids sitting around on the couch eating Cheetos anymore.”
