Plantation-based CarePredict, a startup that employs artificial intelligence to predict declining health in seniors, recently secured $9.5 million in funding.
The round was led by Miami-based Secocha Ventures, Fort Lauderdale-based Las Olas Ventures and New York-based Startup Health Ventures. The funds will be used to expand internationally, launch products and further develop the platform to recognize more symptoms.
CarePredict was founded in 2013 by Satish Movva. Its technology was designed to predict depression, increased fall risk and urinary tract inflections by tracking seniors’ daily activities and behavior patterns. CarePredict’s AI can predict UTIs nearly four days ahed of clinical diagnosis, depression two weeks ahead, and has reduced the chance of a fall by 25 percent, according to pilot data.
