Energy-focused private equity firm in Tampa raises $46.5M for first fund

A Tampa private equity company that invests in energy projects in Latin America and the Caribbean has raised $46.5 million for its debut fund.

It’s the first time the firm, WRB Serra Partners, has raised a fund to invest in a variety of projects, instead of getting backing from investors for each individual deal, said Bob Blanchard Jr., one of three partners at the firm.

WRB Serra Partners Fund I LP drew investments from a mix of family office and institutional investors as well as the Overseas Private Investment Corp., a U.S. government agency that helps American businesses invest in emerging markets.
