Cellvana Biotechnology wins Cade Museum Prize

    The Tampa-based company has created a technology that eliminates the need to use chemicals or tools to harvest cells that are used in rare cancer and stem cell therapies.

    When Alina Ruta’s mother died 19 years ago during a clinical trial to treat her rare form of liver cancer, she said she was inspired to help others.

    “There was nothing I could do. She was my best friend. She was my mother,” Ruta said. “And the day she died, I just made it my mission to help save people’s lives.
