BRIDG seeking money from state for smart sensor hub equipment, operations

Executives who will manage and operate the Florida Advanced Manufacturing Research Center are seeking additional state funds — a request some already see as a long shot.

Kissimmee-based Bridging the Innovation Development Gap (BRIDG) requested $18 million from the state this year to support the $75 million, 109,000-square-foot smart sensor hub in Osceola. The building opened in late March with workers moving in, and elected officials and organization executives cut the ribbon on April 13, marking the completion of a project that first broke ground in October 2014.
