Blockchain conference expects to attract 3,000 to Miami’s Wynwood

The organizers of the inaugural Blockchain Shift conference, taking place Oct. 11-12 in Miami’s Wynwood, aim to put the region at the center of the buzz about blockchain, financial technology (fintech) and cryptocurrencies.

The event is expected to attract 3,000 attendees to Mana Wynwood, at 318 N.W. 23rd St. Its speakers include U.S. elected officials, federal regulators, technology billionaires and celebrities. Global technology company IBM has signed on as a sponsor.

“Blockchain is like the new internet and could potentially be more important than the internet, so we’re working on making Miami and Florida a blockchain hub,” Blockchain Shift Executive Chairman Alexander Lopatine said.
