Bill Schmarzo made it clear why Orlando should focus more on the Internet of Things technology.
“Data is not the new oil, it is the new sun,” Schmarzo, Hitachi Vantara’s chief technology officer of Internet of Things and analytics, told a room full of business professionals at the Florida Simulation Summit event in Orlando on Sept. 6. “The sun never wears out. It never depletes. So with data, I can take the same information and use it in infinite ways.”
Internet of Things plays the leading role in the big data industry because connecting everyday items to the internet will help collect information that then can be used to determine different patterns or help businesses make certain marketing decisions. It even may lead to the creation of new businesses.
