As education shifts online, Tampa tutoring startup expands into K-12 with FPL partnership

Knack, which has racked up investments from Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff VinikConnectWise and the Bellini Family Foundation, now has the attention of Florida Power and Light — and will be using funds to expand into the K-12 realm.

FPL introduced Knack to nonprofit Community Partners of South Florida last month, and the trio is now working toward providing tutoring, Google Chromebooks and Wi-Fi hot spots to K-12 students in need through a $50,000 initiative. The app pairs tutors with the chance to network with businesses.
