Airspan Networks CEO on taking the company public and the future of 5G

Airspan Networks CEO Eric Stonestrom rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange early Monday, marking the telecommunications firm’s first day as a public company.

Last week, Boca Raton-based Airspan (NYSE: MIMO) closed its merger with blank check company New Beginnings Acquisition Corp. in a deal that values the venture at $822 million. The capital injection that comes with becoming a publicly traded entity will fuel Airspan’s expansion and establish the firm as a premier 5G wireless technology leader.
